Sacred Journey Hospice

Sacred Journey Hospice: was started by four oncology nurses and one physician's assistant who saw the need for a hospice in Henry County several years ago.  They pooled their money, went without a paycheck many times (donating it for the purpose of starting the facility) and when they thought they had enough to start building, contacted a bank for assistance.  The facility is built to their specifications and has been described as a place of peace where someone who is dying can come and find dignity, comfort, compassion, and understanding. Services are provided by a team of professionals including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, personal care specialists, counselors, and volunteers.  Sacred Journey Hospice, Inc. is a 12-bed facility, staffed by a nurse and certified nurse’s assistants 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. There is a doctor who is available 24 hours a day. The plan of care is to provide specialized pain and symptom control and is carried out to the patient's attending physician's directions.
